The gentle Sciton laser for glowing, refreshed skin — improve tone, texture, and early sun damage with minimal downtime at Lola's Med Spa.
Moxi is a non-ablative fractional laser by Sciton designed to gently resurface the skin and help support a fresh, glowing-looking complexion. It uses a 1927 nm wavelength to create microscopic treatment zones that trigger your skin to repair itself — softer texture, more even tone, and a healthier overall look.
Often called a "prejuvenation" laser, Moxi is a favorite for patients who want noticeable results without the downtime of a deeper resurfacing treatment. It targets:

Moxi uses fractionated 1927 nm laser energy to refresh the top layers of skin without removing them — softer texture and tone with minimal downtime.
Versatile
Unlike many resurfacing lasers, Moxi is designed to treat a wide range of skin tones year-round, including patients who couldn't tolerate traditional IPL.
Quick
Sessions take about 30 minutes with 2 to 5 days of light pink, sandpaper-like texture — most patients return to normal activities the next day.
Moxi by Sciton bridges the gap between gentle facials and aggressive resurfacing. It offers real laser results with a comfortable, lunchtime experience.
Many patients combine Moxi with BBL or Lumecca IPL, Hydrafacial, or ZO Skin Health medical-grade skincare for a complete skin-rejuvenation plan.
Moxi laser is ideal for patients who want to refresh and protect their skin without significant downtime. It is a great fit if you have:
Moxi is not recommended for patients who are pregnant, actively tanned, or have certain skin conditions. A consultation at Lola's Med Spa in Chalmette confirms whether Moxi is the right option for you.
A typical Moxi session takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Your provider will cleanse the skin and apply a topical numbing cream for about 30 minutes before treatment.
During treatment you'll wear protective eyewear while the Moxi handpiece glides over the skin in a series of passes. Most patients describe the sensation as warm and prickly. A cool-air device adds comfort throughout the session.
Immediately after, expect mild redness and warmth similar to a sunburn for a few hours. Over the next 2 to 5 days, skin develops a sandpaper-like texture (MENDs) as old, damaged cells shed and renew.
Aftercare is simple: gentle cleansing, hydrating serum, and SPF 30+ daily. Avoid retinoids, exfoliants, and direct sun exposure for about a week. Mineral makeup is usually safe after 24 hours.
For best results, plan a series of 3 to 4 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart, followed by 1 to 2 maintenance treatments per year.
