Semaglutide is generic for both Wegoovy and Ozempic. It is a human based glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP1) receptor agonist prescribed as an adjunct to a reduced calorie diet and increased physical activity for chronic weight management in adult patients with a BMI that is considered outside a healthy range. It works by increasing the amount of insulin produced by the pancreas and decreasing the amount of glucagon produced by the liver. This combination results in reduced hunger, leading to weight loss.
We have a monthly program with no long term obligation. You pay monthly $175-$250 based on your dosing. All the details are discussed at your consult which is required prior to starting the program. You can do weekly injections at the spa or take your medication home (inject yourself weekly) and follow up monthly.
It is contraindicated in patients with previous/chronic pancreatitis, history of medullary thyroid cancer, pregnant/breastfeeding, kidney disease, diabetic retinopathy, disease of the gallbladder, and/or multiple endocrine neoplasia syndrome type 2.
Most Common Side Effects: 1% Pancreatitis, Nausea (mainly when overeating), Constipation and Heartburn.
